Whether you’re interested in helping backstage, welcoming audiences, supporting productions, or sharing your professional expertise, we’d love to hear from you.

Here are just some of the volunteering roles we offer:

Drama and Project Assistant Volunteer

Assist with delivery of drama sessions and projects, shadow professional staff and freelancers and be supported to take on roles within the project.

Technically trained lighting support assistants

Work with Mess Up The Mess to provide technical lighting support to enhance an event or production.  

Marketing and Communications Project Assistant Volunteer

Assist with marketing of various Mess Up The Mess and community projects and events.

Technically trained sound support assistants

Work with Mess Up The Mess to provide technical sound support to enhance an event or production.  

Peer Leader Volunteer (Training during summer holidays)

Work with Mess Up The Mess Theatre Company as an active role model for younger members of the company.

All volunteering opportunities are based at MUTM Office: 46 College Street, Ammanford, SA18 3AF. However, training and event organisation may take place in various different communities around South Wales.

Skills required

  • Interest in theatre 
  • Good communication skills (which will be developed throughout the project)
  • A willingness to learn and embrace all opportunities 
  • Ability to work as a team 
  • Be flexible throughout the duration of the project

*Transport costs will be provided and support with transport will be offered when possible. Expenses for food covered if volunteering for 4hrs or more.
