The past few weeks have been filled with immense pride here at Mess Up The Mess, as we celebrate receiving awards for our work!
We were thrilled to be recognised alongside other projects doing important and ground breaking cultural work in communities across Wales at the Get The Chance Cultural Impact Awards. Mess Up The Mess were shortlisted for two awards:
- Community and Education Project – for our work with the After Hours Arts Academy and local schools on a film and heritage project, Tales of Pontardawe (which you can watch here)
- Faciliator Award – for playwright Hefin Robinson’s work with us
Seeing Hefin be recognised for his work with us, and being shortlisted for our work on the Pontardawe heritage project were enormous points of pride – truly reflecting the hard work we and our collaborators put in to enhance our local communities through culture and theatre.

Then, we won the Neath Port Talbot Mayors Award for Performing Arts. It was an honour being recognised for our work with young people across Neath Port Talbot,

Huge thanks to all the freelancers, MUTM staff, alumni and community partners who’ve been involved in our work – we couldn’t run our projects or get considered for these awards without their hard work.
